Bettina advises organisations on how to build strategy and communicate effectively with their key audiences: global, European or local.
She has supported blue chip companies; international organisations; EU players and associations in their positioning and messaging; stakeholder outreach and issues communications. Bettina works for a wide range of sectors, with her strongest credentials in public health and healthcare; global health and development; transport; aviation and aerospace; R&D; technology and sustainability.
Bettina learned much of her trade at Hill+Knowlton Strategies, a leading Global Public Relations and Public Affairs consultancy where she worked from 2000 to 2012; nine years of which as a director. Bettina has also more than five years of experience in leadership coaching, training and consulting.
Since 2012, Bettina has been supporting the European Multiple Sclerosis Platform (EMSP) as an external advisor. EMSP is the umbrella organisation of 40 patient organisations across Europe, acting as the voice of 700.000 people with MS. Bettina took on the role as Interim CEO for six months in 2016.
Prior positions in Public Policy have helped Bettina to work and communicate on complex subject matters. In the mid-90s, she worked as an independent consultant for the German Federal Chancellery. She has also in-house experience with the European Commission.
Bettina covers a range of communications and leadership training areas, offering individual sessions as well as group training for senior executives, She works with blue chip companies, international organisations and associations. Bettina’s sessions take place in various languages and in different European and international locations.
Highlights include rehearsing with executives prior to BBC HARDTalk and CNN programmes; coaching a national Minister prior to interviews; preparing high-level militaries for TED-like talks and training executives from all over Asia in Kuala Lumpur on how to communicate strategically.
Bettina has been working as an independent trainer since 2012. Prior to that, she was a director in a leading communications agency, specializing in strategy and capacity-building. During her agency years, she ran workshops for clients and colleagues on strategy and message development; media, crisis; presentation skills; and internal career development.
Her interest in education and training was triggered during her student years, when she taught German at a language school for adults in Spain. Following German re-unification, she also trained students from the former GDR in European and German Politics, as well as public speaking. In the late nineties, Bettina organised mid-career training for international media professionals on behalf of the Netherlands-based European Journalism Centre, focusing both on contents training and newsroom management.

As an accredited Executive Coach, Bettina specialises in working with professionals in a leadership context. She teams up with executives and middle managers alike. Bettina’s methodology is influenced by solution-oriented, psychological and systemic approaches to coaching. Occasionally, she also taps into techniques from Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP).
Having re-bounced following major health issues, Bettina got intrigued by what builds and impedes resilience of individuals and organisations. As a trained Resilience Coach, she helps professionals bounce back after serious adversity.
Relevant qualifications include: Executive Coaching Diploma (Academy of Executive Coaching – AoEC); Resilience Coaching Accreditation (Resilience Engine / AoEC); Systemic Coaching Certification (AoEC) and NLP Master Practitioner Diploma (Momentum Strategies).
Bettina abides by the code of ethics and conduct of the Academy of Executive Coaching and the Resilience Engine. She works with an accredited supervisor.
